Welsh acteur van Italiaanse afkomst. Werd vooral bekend door zijn vriendschap met the Beatles en komische sleutelrollen in hun films A Hard Day’s Night (Richard Lester, 1964), Help! (Lester, 1965) en hun tv-film Magical Mystery Tour (Beatles en Bernard Knowles, 1967). Eerste echte filmrol in The Gentle Terror (Frank Marshall, 1961).
