Amerikaans producent. Oscarnominatie beste film voor het kostuumdrama The Lion in Winter (Anthony Harvey, 1968). Heropende eind jaren 50 de Biograph-studio in New York, onder de naam Gold Medal. Liet zich benoemen tot filmcommissaris en blies de filmproductie buiten Hollywood zo nieuw leven in.
